Scrolling stops
being free.
Your feeds cost nothing to open — that is the whole trick. DontRot puts a price on them, and you pay it with your body, your focus or your day.
Lock your traps
Pick the apps that eat your day. Open one without time in the bank and a full-screen guard steps in — not a polite reminder.
Go live a little
Walk, train, read, meditate, journal, drink water, touch grass. Ten activities, each with its own honest rate.
Spend it on purpose
Open a blocked app and your balance ticks down, minute by minute. When it hits zero, the guard returns — and so do you.
How we measure
real activity.
Nothing here is self-reported. Every minute you earn is counted by a sensor, a camera, a GPS trace or a clock that only runs while you are actually doing the thing.
Your camera counts the reps.
Prop the phone up and start a set. It watches your form and counts every push-up, squat, crunch and plank second in real time — no tapping, no rounding up.
- Push-ups5 reps = 1 min
- Squats5 reps = 1 min
- High Plank10 s = 1 min
- Crunches5 reps = 1 min
Kilometres, not intentions.
Running and cycling draw the real trace. A run pays 10 minutes per kilometre, a ride 5 — and your best kilometre, 5K and 10K stay on the map as records.
1 km run = 10 minA clock that only runs when you do.
Pick a 25, 35 or 45 minute stretch and a rest to match. Every 3 focused minutes bank 1 minute of screen time; leave the session and the clock leaves with you.
3 focused min = 1 minTick it off, get paid.
Each task you tick off gives +5 minutes, up to 6 a day — on top of whatever the focus clock earned while you worked.
Two you cannot fake with a sensor.
So they take a picture instead: a full glass, or your hand on actual grass.

Designed like a currency,
not like a cage.
Rates are published, capped and boring on purpose. You can plan around them, spend ahead, take a day off — and never wonder why the app gave you 40 minutes today and 12 yesterday.
🚶Walking is the one you never start.
Every other activity has a start button. Walking does not: every 100 steps becomes +1 minute of screen time, 24/7, even with the app closed. Your commute was already happening — now it pays.
Steps per earned minute. Free to change, whenever you want.
🌙 Whatever you do not spend transfers itself at midnight. Nothing you earned ever evaporates.
🎯Goals and rest days
Set the day you want: until you hit your step goal, the blocked apps stay blocked, no matter how many minutes you have banked. And because life is not a streak, you schedule rest days in advance — the guard steps aside, guilt-free.
You set the exchange rate
If running costs you more than walking, make it pay more. Each activity carries its own difficulty, and the base rates stay sacred so effort stays comparable.
Fair questions,
straight answers.
How the blocking works, what actually counts, what it costs, and what happens the day you want none of it.
